BBC back in Greenwich

September 6, 2018

The BBC were back in Greenwich again over the summer to cover our campaign and to report on the cruise ships that are already coming up the Thames. A total of 34 cruise ships will have visited London  and docked at the PLA piers by the end of the September - 16 in Greenwich and 18 Tower Bridge.

Tom Edwards' comprehensive report not only addresses the cruise terminal issue at Enderby Wharf but asks the question as to why air quality controls do not apply to the Thames. Watch the full interview below:

We arranged a spot check by the river where a Viking cruise ship was moored and idling its engines. The levels of NOX registered by air quality consultant Mike Webley from Enviro Technology Services showed that they were two times the annual legal levels of 40 micrograms per cubic metre.
